There are so many fascinating creatures worldwide, so it is no surprise that some are friendly. Although you won’t be able to keep these animals as pets, some interactions you can have with them in the wild are pretty astonishing.
1. Capybaras

These little guys have become quite popular over the past few years and can often be found in t-shirt designs. It might be because they are the “coolest” critters around. They can be found in the South American wetlands and are known to be friendly, social animals, often adopting orphaned animals as their own or being known as the local taxi for birds and monkeys.
2. Whale Sharks

They might seem intimidating, but these gentle giants won’t harm anyone who comes close. They only feed on plankton and small fish, so you won’t be much to their liking, and they are pretty gentle by nature. People love swimming close to these guys because they make for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
3. Giraffes

These towering creatures might look terrifying up close due to their height but are pretty calm. They will keep their distance out in the wild, but in wildlife reserves, they are quite curious and will often stick their heads anywhere they find interesting, even your car.
4. Penguins

Some penguin species interact fearlessly with humans, often being very curious when given the chance. They are gentle and friendly, and all move together in a group. If you’ve caught the attention of one of these waddlers, you might have a few more coming!
5. Manta Ray

These guys love a good cuddle and shouldn’t be confused with their deadly cousins, the stingray. They seamlessly glide through tropical waters and can be quite curious, too. They’ll often swim up to people to investigate.
6. Dolphins

This list wouldn’t be complete without dolphins. They are well known to be one of the friendliest animals in the wild. They are very intelligent creatures and love swimming up close to divers or swimmers to see what’s going on. You’ll even find them swimming alongside boats to get a little attention. There have been many cases where dolphins helped other creatures or even humans when they were in distress.
7. Capuchin Monkeys

If you’ve ever watched a movie with a monkey involved, it’s always this little guy, and for good reason. Monkeys love the attention and curiosity that go along with interacting with a human. They are an intelligent species, and they can be quite sociable, too.
8. Beluga Whales

As big as they are, these marine creatures are gentle giants of the ocean. Their ability to alter facial expressions and communicate through clicks and whistles adds to their charm. They are pretty curious and often approach boats and divers to get a closer look. They are magnificent creatures, and even seeing one from far away is quite the experience.
9. Manatees

These “sea cows” may be significant, but they don’t threaten humans. They can be pretty curious and even interact with snorkelers if they feel like it. They mostly graze on seagrass and go on their way, but they are pretty the sighting.
10. Horses

Horses are among the few animals on this list, mostly kept as pets due to their calm nature. They can form strong bonds with humans and can be quite the companion. In stables and sanctuaries, horses often nuzzle visitors and respond to gentle commands, showcasing their loyalty and social adaptability.
11. Basking Shark

Don’t let this shark’s terrifying appearance fool you. They are pretty docile and not known to harm humans. These massive creatures can reach lengths of up to 12 meters, and they only eat plankton. They allow boats and divers to approach them closely, making them an interesting attraction for marine enthusiasts.
12. Sheep

Sheep are often overlooked as friendly and seen as another farm animal, but they are pretty curious and would even interact if they felt safe enough. Their calm demeanor makes them ideal for therapeutic settings like animal-assisted therapy programs.
