It’s known that cats are pretty intelligent, but some cats take it a step further by being brilliant. They may seem lazy and aloof but don’t underestimate the brain power they’re hiding beneath all the cuteness.
1. Siamese
Not only are these cats strikingly beautiful, but they are brilliant little creatures, too. They are curious, playful cats that love interactive play and have excellent problem-solving skills. These cats love the attention, and they are pretty chatty, too.
2. Abyssinian
These cats are playful, curious, and have tons of energy. They love mental stimulation, and interactive toys are the perfect choice. They learn tricks incredibly fast and form strong bonds with their families. They might not be lap cats, but they appreciate being brushed or petted.
3. Bengal
These cats look like something straight out of the jungle and have sharp minds, too. These felines quickly pick up on tricks and love to play around. Besides their wild look, they can run around just as widely!
4. Scottish Fold
If their cute folded ears aren’t enough to win your heart, they are also brilliant. They adapt well to environmental changes and pick up on tricks very quickly. They are very social cats and love the company of humans and other pets. A cat perch can also go a long way in keeping these cats busy.
5. Burmese
Burmese are like dogs in a cat’s body and are intelligent, too. They love learning new tricks and playing around to release energy. If you teach them young enough, these felines love playing around and walking on a leash.
6. Cornish Rex
These highly intelligent, playful cats love learning a trick or two to challenge their minds and keep them busy. Opening doors and cabinets is no challenge for these felines, so consider child locks. They are incredible jumpers, too, and we would love to have a cat tree around the house to entertain them.
7. Russian Blue
These cats are incredibly clever and can often be underestimated. They might even start training you when you’re not paying attention. They form strong bonds with their families and love playing around to keep them mentally stimulated.
8. Egyptian Mau
These magnificent creatures were once considered a sacred breed in Egypt. They are brilliant, playful, inquisitive, and thrive on mental stimulation. They love playing in the water and can even learn to turn on the faucet. They’ll never miss a cuddle session with their owner because they have so much love to give.
9. American Bobtail
These cats are brilliant and have a remarkable sense of emotional intelligence. They make excellent service animals, if you will, always having a shoulder to cry on. They are wonderful problem solvers; if you train them early, they can be comfortable walking around on a leash.
10. Korat
This rare breed is brilliant and attentive to the world around them. If you let them, they will watch you do your thing all day, except for a few scratches. They’re easy to train but can pick up on bad habits just as quickly, like stealing their snacks, if it’s not too complicated.
11. Turkish Van
These cats have a unique love for water; their intelligence is just the cherry on top. They love interactive toys and can pick up new tricks in no time! They make excellent pets and can adapt easily to any home environment.
12. Turkish Angora
These felines are athletic and have excellent problem-solving skills. They can be easily trained to do a few tricks, and they love spending time with their loved ones and getting in a scratch or two.
