Sea creatures might seem intimidating sometimes, but some pretty friendly animals are in the ocean. Some sea creatures have been known for their friendly and social nature, showing us that the ocean might not be as scary as we think. While it’s not recommended to approach animals in the wild as they might still be a danger, if you do have an accidental encounter, you might be safer than you think with these friendly creatures.

1. Dolphins

Dolphins are well known for being friendly and sociable, and for good reason. These intelligent mammals have an innate curiosity about humans and are often seen interacting with swimmers and divers in the wild. Dolphins are highly communicative, using a variety of clicks, whistles, and body movements to express themselves and bond with their pod members.

Even though they can grow up to 40 feet long, they have been known to have quite a gentle temperament and will allow divers to get up close. They are curious and initiate an encounter from time to time.
